This is my first official ‘review’ post and while the word review stresses me out, I will say that I’m happy to share with you, a little about a brand that’s both home made and local. Also with all of the beauty and skin care products that are flooding the market on an almost daily basis, we all heavily rely on reviews to help us navigate things. Skin TLC by Radhika Samant is a range that’s made completely from natural ingredients and when she sent me a huge hamper of them to try, I was more than excited. So first things first, I’m not one of those lucky people who can put any ole thing on their skin. Mine is quite sensitive and never lets me forget it. Secondly, I’m very picky about smells, with overly active sinuses, so that means very perfume-y type products are off limits as well. So keeping in mind my various issues, my hamper still contained an assortment of soaps, scrubs, creams and even lip balm.

I’ll get right to talking about my favourites.. I decided on a top 3 (Pictured above)

Aloe Love: One of the best body lotions I have ever tried! And I say this without exaggeration. It’s light and feathery and no matter how much of it you slather on, your skin isn’t left with that greasy icky sensation (another beauty pet peeve of mine), that many lotions have. I love it so much that I even have a big container of it in my living room for guests to try. And it smells heavenly. Super fresh and invigorating.

Lavender Body Scrub: This one comes in a close second behind the Aloe Body Lotion. Again it smells great, works wonders on your skin and it looks super pretty in the bottle, which makes it a great gift option. My favourite way to use it is as a post workout scrub, to get rid of all the grime, and it leaves the skin feeling nice and smooth.

Daily Facial Cleansing Grains: Back to those of you that have sensitive skin, this cleanser which contains Lavender and a simple blend of Clay, Oats, and soothing Botanicals, should do the trick. It doesnt leave you with the ultra-squeaky-clean feel though, most of a pleasantly moisturized one instead.

In the soaps section my favourites included the Fullers Earth Neem Tulsi Cleanser, pretty self explanatory. Again great for troublesome skin and not too fragrant. Same goes for the Calamine Soap.  Oh yes and how could I forget the star ingredient, and one that’s all the rage these days, which is charcoal. There are quite a few Skin TLC products that feature ‘activated charcoal’, and the one I tried- the Healing Clay and Charcoal Spa Bar, combines it with Tea Tree for clearing skin and Bentonite, which is a healing clay. So basically an overall skin detox.

Now from what I understand, the best results are with an extended use of the products, especially when the ingredients are natural, but hopefully this review helped at least point you in the right direction. And remember, there is no ‘one size fits all’, especially when it comes to skin care!
