It’s that time of the year where fight as we might, summer is almost here. Our wardrobes are in a state of confusion, as are we, as we try to quickly find occasions to wear those velvet pieces that we thought were such good buys a couple of months ago. And that’s what you’ve got to love about jewellery. Your accessories will be there for you in a way that even your most favourite outfit wont. Especially the modern jewellery trend, where young new designers refuse to let their creations be confined by categories. With it come beautiful pieces that work across the board, and that don’t cost the earth.

How this specific blog post came to be, is an interesting one. I often harp about the difference in taste when it comes to my sister Rochelle and I. Makes for great discussions, as well as a versatile shared wardrobe from which to borrow. But it turns out The Little Bauble Box is a brand that both of us had happened upon, each in our own different ways, only to recently discover our shared love for it. I found it during one of my many online shopping marathons, and Rochelle through her stylist Jaanvi Chowhan.Which is also testament to the fact that their range is amazing. Exclusive designer jewellery from all over the world, curated in a way that makes sense.

One of my favourite things about The Little Bauble Box is the actual adorable boxes that their products come wrapped in. Especially great as a customized gift, or even if it’s just a cute box for you to store your knick-knacks in. In case you haven’t figured, I’m a sucker for cute packaging. Unfortunately for us, Rochelle’s cat ‘Toothless’ thought the box was it’s new toy, and set to work on it, so we had to use a pre-shot picture for our shoot. Oh well.

Featured are a few of our favourite pieces, ones that easily cross over from western to Indian and back. Wear them to a friend’s mehendi or sangeet, pair them with a cocktail dress, or throw them on at the last minute with a casual outfit for that dressy element. And the best part is, it’s all available at the click of a button. Seen here on Rochelle is a really quirky pom pom and pearl necklace by Teo Accessories that we instantly loved, while I’m wearing the earring variation. Just the right amount of ‘edgy’.

We also wanted to show off some sleek modern pieces and both ended up picking geometric shapes. There’s something about these rectangular styles that really catch the eye, and I love the matte brushed gold finish on mine (by Silvette) . Rochelle’s ‘hanging in a box’ earrings by Mitali Jain are a statement piece that go surprisingly well with everything, so they’re a great buy if you’re someone who doesn’t like to spend too much time thinking about putting a look together.

I will warn you though that the stuff on the site is pretty fast moving, and in an effort to keep things exclusive you won’t find many of the same piece. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. The other option is to get on the waitlist and they’ll update you if and when a specific piece is back in stock. And you’ll hardly have to wait a week or two before a whole bunch of new fun pieces are added. So whether its a present for someone else, or a special treat for yourself, we hope you enjoy delving into The Little Bauble Box as much as us Rao sisters did!
